Round 9 & a local derby…….

On Saturday, December 13th we welcomed local rivals Nenagh Ormond to Tom Clifford Park in what promosed to be an action packed day....

With over 150 seated for the Prematch Lunch & a stacked post match schedule of rugby, it all came down to the 2,30 kick off.

Playing into the wind in the first half, saw us lead 8-5 into the half time break, our scores in the first half coming from our Kiwi in the backrow, Ajae Hanson who dotted down over the whitewash and a penalty from Shane o Leary, just before the whistle Nenagh scored in the corner, former Cookie Conor o Shaughnessy with the try for the Tipperary men.

The lads came out blazing in the second half, Kieran Ryan with a super try, which was converted by Shane.

Three minutes later Stephen Mc Loughlin followed suit and got the third try of the afternoon, Shane slotting the conversion over.

Coming up to the twenty minute mark in the second half, the Nenagh scrumhalf went to clear with a box kick, Oran O Reilly using all his height charged the kick, gave chase and picked the ball up to score our fourth, BP in the bag, Shane slotted the conversion over from wide.

Our fifth came after some fantastic interplay backs & forwards putting John Poland over the line, Irish Grassroots "AIL Moment of the Week", Shane with another super strike!

The sixth of the sixth of the afternoon courtesty of Fionn Gibbons, Shane again with the conversion.

Christain Foley making his presence known in TCP, not only scrummaging well, but also getting over the whitewash on the half hour mark, Shane slotting the additional points.

Davy Glesson of Nenagh got in for their second try in the far corner.

With the last play of the game, Aussie centre, Luke Mc Cready got in on the action, our eight of the afternoon, Shane with his 7th conversion of the day.

A loud & proud rendition of Beautiful Munsters was heard from the home dressing room.


The half way point in the league into the break sees us in 6th place - all to play for in 2026.
