Under Age Weekly Update February 26th 2016

Good afternoon all,

Hopefully, the recent dry weather has helped to improve the condition of our grounds, and we have a very full agenda this week-end for tour Youth Section. Its Quarter Final stage of the Bank Of Ireland Pan Munster competitions, with our Under 18’s in action against Bantry Bay, and our 14’s and 13’s are also in League action, and the Under 9 and 11’s are involved in Blitzes also.

Our Under 15’s continued their great run of recent form last Sunday, with a hard earned victory over Galbally, and this win should see them safely through to the semi finals of the league. Well done also to the Under 12’s who were involved in a Blitz hosted by Bruff at UL Campus

Well done to our Senior team who defeated Ballynahinch at Clifford Park last week and our Junior team who defeated Thurles and now progress to the Quarter Final of the Munster Junior Cup with a home draw against Kilfeacle. Not to be outdone, our Under 20’s also ha d a comprehensive victory over Bruff in the Donal Walsh Cup, making it a clean sweep for all teams who played last week-end.

Team Limerick Clean Up.

Last year, the Youth Section got involved in the inaugural “Team Limerick Clean Up”, which was the brainchild of J.P. McManus and with our own Paul O’Connell fronting the project and being very actively involved. This year sees the event taking place on Good Friday, 25th March, and we will once again be getting involved in helping to clean up our locality. We are requesting that all teams from Under 15’s down to Under 11’s would help us with this project (it involves just a few hours on Good Friday morning). We will have more details and will be in contact early next week

Best of luck to our Senior XV who take on Clontarf in the AIL this Saturday at Castle Avenue in Dublin 3.

Yours in rugby,

Ciaran O’Callaghan

Chairman, Young Munster R.F.C. Youth Section
