We intend to play 4 – 5 fixtures per season with a weekend tour involved (yet to be finalised) & a family day on the final home fixture of the season. The fixtures will be non competitive and will be based on the rules of vets rugby as outlined by the IRB .e.g. 3 x 20 minute periods with 5 min break between each period. We need to have a pool of 25 – 45 players in the “squad” so that there is cover for all of the fixtures. There are currently 30 – 35 showing an interest, but the more that get involved the better. Those intending to play must register with Young Munster RFC as a member and pay their yearly sub so that they will be covered by insurance before they can play.
The team will be run on the principles of veteran’s rugby and is intended solely as a social occasion – the taking part and enjoyment is the main aim.
